Christmas Present
Yesterday my mom and Jim watched Lukas so that Dan and I could go to Ikea and get my Christmas present. I wanted a new duvet and curtains. Let me tell you that Ikea is the place to go if you want a new duvet. They have a TON to choose from and they are so in expensive. Also they always have matching curtains to go with it. Of course we didn't come out of Ikea with just this. We bought some other things as well. I seriously LOVE Ikea. I really like the duvet I chose it has helped brighten up our room. I think we will keep this one for a while. This is our third one but so far my favorite. We put it on the bed that night and Lukas wanted to get right up on our bed and play on it. He cracks me up and he had a lot of fun. Here are some pictures of Lukas playing on our new duvet cover.

Lukas's bad day
Lukas didn't have a very good day today. It began this morning when we woke up and I hurried to get us ready for music and movement class. Our library has this class every Thursday morning and we usually go. We missed last week because Lukas got up later then normal and I didn't get us ready in time. He has been stuck in the house for two days so I thought we better try and go. Despite the snow we make it there just to find out it has been cancelled. They were having a city counsel meeting in the room that they normally have it in. Lukas was upset and kept trying to get Dan and I to go back there with him. I finally said lets go and told him we would go to grandmas instead. Then I remembered grandma was busy today and wouldn't be home. So my next promise was we would go and play outside in the snow when we got home. We get home and get Lukas in his snow clothes and get him all ready to go outside. Dan is in his snow clothes as well ready to play with him. Well Lukas didn't want to wear his hat. We told him he couldn't go outside unles he wore it ( I know we are mean parents.) So he puts it on and we go out. The minute we get out there he takes it right off. So we come back in. He still wants to play outside of course so we told him he needs to put his hat on and he runs off. His boots are a little big because we couldn't find ANY boots in his size and had to go up a size. He is also really bundled up in his snow suit and coat. Well he trips in the kitchen and slams his head into the wall. Poor little guy. He now has a huge bruise and bump. Even after this though he refused to take off his snow clothes and just get asking for his baby (he calls binkies babies for some reason) So we let him have it and he just laid on mommy with his snow clothes on for a while. Eventually he let me take them off. He did have one highlight of the day though. Playing with lip gloss in the bath tub. I was getting ready to go out to dinner with Dan ( a work party) while he was in the tub. Lukas is obsessed with lip gloss and is always wanting me to put it on him. He likes to do it himself but I won't let him since it makes a mess. I figured why not since he was in the tub. He had a blast!
So upset that he fell.

Santa/choo choo
Today we took Lukas to ride the choo choo train and see Santa at the mall. When he saw the train he said Choo choo and ran up to it. He was excited to ride. He didn't however want to ride by himself so Dan had to ride with him. Regardless of his expression he did have a good time. I did get one wave from him as he went by.

YAY for graduation!
Lukas and I are so pleased to announce that Dan has accomplished his goal and is officially a graduate! We are so excited and so proud of him. It has been a long road that hasn't always been easy for us but he managed to accomplish what he set out to do. He managed to do it while working full time, being a great daddy and husband. Last night we had a little party for him over at my parents. Thanks to all our friends and family who came out to support him and show their appriciation. It means a lot to us. Thanks for the gifts and congratulations and well wishes. We are thrilled to find out what is a head for us.
Dans cake. We didn't even tell them to use green and yellow frosting but I guess they just knew! HA HA.

Polar Express
Tonight we rode the Polar Express train (AKA the Heber Creeper). It was a lot of fun. Lukas loves trains and we hyped him up all day telling him we were going to ride the choo choo. When we pulled up Lukas got really excited and kept saying choo choo over and over again. The train takes you to the North Pole. While your going to the North Pole you get cookies and hot chocolate handed out by none other then Santas Elves. They hand out Polar Express books and you follow along while the story is read. The Elves even come around and ask each child what they would like for Christmas and they write it down. The conductor comes out and punches your tickets. Lukas for some reason was really enthralled with the conductor and kept staring at him. Once you get to the North Pole Santa Clause and Mrs. Clause join the train. I thought Lukas would be scared of Santa but he wasn't. He stared at him and really seemed to take an interest. Santa handed out bells from his sleigh just like the little boy got in the Polar Express story.

Temple square
I was so excited to go up to temple square and see the lights today. I don't think Dan and I have ever been there together and I really wanted to share this experience with him and with Lukas. We went with our friends Neil, Ali and Emma and it was a lot of fun. We ate at Sweet Tomatoes and then rode Trax to Salt Lake. That was my first trax experience and I thought it was a great way to get around. Lukas was a little scared at first when he saw the floor beneath him move. After a minute though he got really excited and said choo choo. The kids were awesome and so well behaved tonight. I am sure they thought that it was as beautiful as I did and were entranced. I love Christmas and all the great things about it. Temple square is such a great place because it is so beautiful and really helps remind you that Christmas is about the savior.
I am in awe of just how beautiful the temple is. It brings peace to my heart to know that so long ago the pioneers built this temple. They had to be so dedicated and had to know with all their hearts that the church was true. I don't know how else they would have been able to build such a beautiful building in that era with limited resources. I feel so blessed to belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I feel so blessed that my family could be sealed for time and eternity in the temple just like this temple.

Odd weather!
I can't believe how warm it has been outside! It is so odd to me that we are playing outside a lot and it isn't in the snow. It hasn't even been all that cold for this time of the year. We have certainly enjoyed the time we have been able to spend outside playing as a family. It was also perfect weather to put up the Christmas lights on the house. Personally I don't like the snow much so I have really been enjoying it. I do hope that it snows for Christmas though. Until then we will enjoy the nice weather while we can! Here are a couple of pictures of Lukas playing outside.
It sort of looks like he is in time out huh? He isn't. He got in there on his own free will and he can get out without any help.
