I got tagged today by my friend Jen. I am supposed to write 6 random things that no one really knows about me. So here it goes.
1) I love reading and I really love reading while I take a relaxing bath. Especially lately because I actually get some peace and quiet while doing so.
2) I am addicted to reality t.v. I seriously love a lot of the reality t.v. shows. Survivor, The Bachelor, Amazing Race, American Idol, Apprentice, I also love watching Real world and the Gauntlet on MTV.
3) I dream of buying a REALLY old house that is restored or buying one and fixing it up. I love old houses and the charm they have. I would love an old farm house with a wrap around porch. To bad Dan doesn't share in my feelings of this specific dream.
4) I hate yard work. I don't mind mowing the lawn but anything else I hate. I am sure that if we live somewhere with a nice yard it will look pretty plain not much flowers or anything like that.
5) I hate the snow and cold.
6) When I was little I wanted 8 kids. I even had them named and got 8 goldfish and named them those names. Lets just say that isn't the case anymore. I think we will settle for 3.

YAY for a nice day!
I am SO glad that today was such a nice sunny day. I decided to take Lukas oustide to play. He thought it was so much fun. We played out there for about an hour. He kept falling though which led to some tears so I thought he might have had enough and brought him inside. Well he wasn't happy to say the least, so I took him back out. After about ten minutes of our second trip out he fell into a puddle. His jacket was pretty wet so I figured we had enough time outside and went inside. He threw the biggest tantrum he even threw himself on the ground. I am glad tomorrow is supposed to be nice as well so we can play outside again!
He loved playing with his ball outside.

Sticking with 2 naps
Well my week long experiment of seeing if one nap would help Lukas to sleep later in the mornings has come to an end. The final decesion is we will be sticking to two naps for now. It worked for about two days but it didn't make much of a difference in Lukas's early morning wake ups. After about two days we started seeing Lukas fall a sleep on the floor during morning nap time. A few times he even took his blanky and stood at the gate and when we asked him if he wanted a nap he nodded his head yes. We would put him in his crib and he would go right to sleep. Today was my last attempt. I had a few errands to run this morning so I thought it would be a good distraction. It wasn't! He pretty much has been crying non stop today from being so tired. We got home from grocery shopping and he acted so tired. I decided to feed him an early lunch and put him down for a nap. I put him in his high chair at eleven and he strated falling a sleep while eating. It was really cute but I felt so bad for him because he was so tired. He didn't eat a ton but I picked him up and put him in his crib. He seroiusly started laughing when I put him in there. It was like he was saying FINALLY MOM! Well tomorrow we will be back on our two nap schedule.

New Camera pics
We got a pretty good tax return this year! It is so exciting because we have never had a tax return we have always had to pay. So with some of our tax return we bought a new camera. I am so excited! I can totally tell the difference in my pictures. They look so much better. It is so much faster and has so many more features. I can't wait to get some more use out of it. I am still learning how to use it though and it is going to take some practice. Here are some pics I took while I was just messing around trying to learn what it had to offer.

Naptime struggles
This past week we have had some sleep issues ESPECIALLY at nap time. I know that Lukas has had a little cold. Nothing serious just a little stuffy snotty nose. His issues seem to stem more from him not wanting to miss anything versues not feeling well. You can tell he is so tired because he rubs his eyes but he just will not go to sleep. As I am sure you all know we have had some struggles with getting Lukas to sleep past five or five thirty. I tried everything from just having one nap to putting him to bed later to just letting him cry. Nothing was working. If I did the one nap he would fall a sleep on the floor at around nine. This week he has been fighting nap time as well. I would put him down for a nap and he would scream bloody murder for about a good twenty minutes or so. He would finally fall a sleep then wake up thirty minutes later and scream bloody murder even longer. I didn't get him out because I can tell he is so so tired because he could barley hold his eyes open and I would lay him down and he would close his eyes. I finally decided to try the one nap thing again. Dan and I also put a night light in his room which seems to be helping as well. This has helped with his night awakening and he has been sleeping later! YAY! This morning he didn't wake till a quarter to seven! He woke up and played in his crib till I got him out at seven. Luckliy the past few days he hasn't fallen a sleep on the floor which means one nap time is actually working. The sad part is he is still fighting the nap. Today I put him in his crib since he was falling a sleep on the floor around noon. He cried for about twenty minutes and fell a sleep. Then he woke thirty minutes later! I made him cry again because he needs a nap and he finally fell back to sleep. I miss my good napper!
This is how I found Lukas the first time I put him down for his nap. He cried for about ten minutes and fell a sleep like this!

Just wanted to share
I got this from a friend on another site. It really touched me and I wanted to share.
Found this on my friends blog!! It's great!!
GRANDMA'S HANDS
Grandma, some ninety plus years, sat feebly on the patio bench. She didn't move, just sat with her head down staring at her hands. When I sat down beside her she didn't acknowledge my presence and the longer I sat I wondered if she was OK.
Finally, not really wanting to disturb her but wanting to check on herat the same time, I asked her if she was OK. She raised her head and looked at me and smiled. "Yes, I'm fine, thank you for asking," she said in a clear voice strong."I didn't mean to disturb you, grandma, but you were just sitting here staring at your hands and I wanted to make sure you were OK," I explained to her."Have you ever looked at your hands," she asked. "I mean reallylooked at your hands?"I slowly opened my hands and stared down at them. I turned them over, palms up and then palms down. No, I guess I had never really looked atmy hands as I tried to figure out the point she was making.
Grandma smiled and related this story: "Stop and think for a moment about the hands you have, how they have served you well through out your years. These hands, though wrinkled shriveled and weak have been the tools I have used all my life to reach out and grab and embrace life. "They braced and caught my fall when as a toddler I crashed upon the floor. They put food in my mouth and clothes on my back. As a child, my mother taught me to fold them in prayer. They tied my shoes and pulled on my boots. They held my husband and wiped my tears when he went off to war.
"They have been dirty, scraped and raw, swollen and bent. They were uneasy and clumsy when I tried to hold my newborn son. Decoratedwith my wedding band they showed the world that I was married and loved someonespecial. They wrote my letters to him and trembled and shook when I buried my parents and spouse. "They have held my children and grandchildren, consoled neighbors, and shook in fists of anger when I didn't understand. They have covered my face, combed my hair, and washed and cleansed the rest of my body. They have been sticky and wet, bent and broken, dried and raw. And to this day when not much of anything else of me works real well these hands hold me up, lay me down, and again continue to fold in prayer.
"These hands are the mark of where I've been and the ruggedness of life. But more importantly it will be these hands that God will reach out and take when he leads me home. And with my hands He will lift me to His side and there I will use these hands to touch the face ofChrist.
"I will never look at my hands the same again. But I remember God reached out and took my grandma's hands and led her home. When my hands are hurt or sore or when I stroke the face of my children and husband I think of grandma. I know she has been stroked and caressed and held by the hands of God.

Valentines Day
Valentines Day was good but also a little rough. Lukas must be getting some teeth because there was a lot of crying today. When Dan got home we had Lukas open his present from us. He got a swimming suit and a board book about baby kisses. He loves to read his book! However, he only likes to read it himself! He doesn't really like Dan and I to read books to him he takes it away and walks off to his own corner to read. A few hours later Lukas peed through his diaper all over his Valentines outfit! O-well it was cute while he was wearing it. For dinner we had heart shaped red pancakes and red scrambled eggs. Lukas ate a little bit of it but most of his food ended up on the floor. His new favorite game is to throw his food on the floor and laugh. Even though Lukas had a rough day I am so glad that he is my little Valentine. He is so cute and Dan and I love him very much. I am also grateful for my Valentine Dan he is a great husband and a great dad. Lukas loves his daddy and is always so excited for him to come home and play with him. I even helped Lukas make Dan a worlds greatst dad Valentine. Lukas colored on it and stuck stickers on it.
