Canyon FHE

Every year Dans family has a family Home Evening up the canyon. Its a great tradition. This year if I could describe the night in one word it would be DIRTY! Dan wasn't feeling well so I took the kids myself and they went to town. All of you who know me know that I don't like super dirty kids. I am OCD about my kids clothing and try to keep stains to minimum. With that said I do let me kids have fun and get messy but usually not to this extent. Blair was covered from head to toe. It was so bad I just threw her shirt away. I was pretty sure there was no salvaging it.

Blair was seriously in HEAVEN! This girl loves dirt and getting messy. She is so fearless that being next to the water made me so nervous. I only stayed for an hour because I was scared she was going to get seriously hurt.
Lukas didn't get dirty so much just SOAKING wet!
Blair for sure isn't a normal girly girl. I don't think I have ever seen a little girl get so dirty. I wonder if she will stay this way or as she gets older change her ways and become a little more dainty.
I turned around and she had taken FOUR cookies out of the package and was eating them like a sandwich.

Twin bed

About a month ago we bought Lukas a twin bed. I haven't posted about it yet cause we were making him a quilt and I wanted it to be done first. Lukas LOVES his twin bed. He sleeps so much better at night and seems more comfortable. The kids love jumping on it and playing on it as well. It was a little sad for me to get him such a big bed. It just shows me how fast he is growing up.

Lukas picked out the fabric for his quilt. He did a good job. I LOVE it. It is such a cute little boy fabric. It fits his personality to a T! Grandma and Grandpa Crane tied it for him. They brought it over today. He was so excited to sleep with it tonight.

pics

Yesterday my awesome sister in law Karen took some 18 month pics of Blair. It was so great of her to do it for us. She is super talented and did a great job! I know it wasn't easy for her to pack up her 3 kids and haul them and us up the canyon to do it. Plus Blair was being a stinker and didn't really want to cooperate. HA HA. Plus, we all know what a busy bee she is. She didn't want to do anything we wanted and we pretty much just chased her around. Luckily we got some. I LOVE the 3 that she sent me that she was done editing. She said there were more. I can't wait to see the rest. This is Blair's deep in thought face.

I LOVE this one. I love this little girl. She keeps me on my toes, but is adorable while doing so.

Thanks again Karen! We LOVE them and we LOVE you!

18 month check up

Blair had her 18 month check up yesterday. She wasn't a very happy camper, that's for sure! She cried and screamed and clung! One thing I can say about this girl is she is strong! When she is clinging to me it is hard to pry her off. She just holds on with all her might.

Stats: 24 pounds 10 ounces! Yes, people, she gained over 3 pounds in 3 months. The Dr. was happy because she hadn't really gained a ton in the past. She is now 57 percentile in weight.
31.75 inches which is 60th percentile. I think she is taller then this though. She would not lay down flight she was screaming and trying to get up. If it is right she hasn't really grown taller since 15 months.

She has been doing the two binky thing lately. Yes, I realize she is horribly addicted to the binky. Yes, I realize it will be a pain in the you know what when I take it away but yet again o well. For now she can have it, it isn't bothering me at all. It stops her from putting EVERYTHING in her mouth. It stops me from having to endure horribly high pitch screams. It helps her sleep well. So right now the good just outweighs the bad in my mommy opinion.
She looked so grown up to me today. She is getting so big. Maybe it is the hair. She wouldn't let me do it today and I think this may have made her look a little older.

Fall

Today the weather went a little on the cool side. I had to whip out some of the fall/winter clothes for the kids. I couldn't resist putting up pictures of Blair in one of her cute new outfits. I think this outfit is one of my new faves.

Super cute, right?

Pre school

Lukas had his first day of preschool today. He was so excited and was ready WELL before it was time to leave. He kept asking, "Is it time to leave yet?" When it was time to go he got in the car without a moments hesitation. When we got there I said "Here we are, at preschool" He said, "Mom lets not call it preschool just school. Okay?" Ummm okay. So for the record he goes to school NOT preschool. I walked him to the door told him we would be picking him up in a few hours. He seriously could care less that we were leaving him. He gave me a quick hug but didn't even utter bye. The only tears shed were Blair's tears as we were leaving. She wanted to go to school too. She kept saying "Play, play." As we were leaving I have to admit my eyes welled up with tears. I couldn't believe he was so big. However, no tears actually ran down my face. PHEW! I mean if I am already crying for preschool I can't imagine the flood works for kindergarten.

Blair wanted in on every picture this morning. HA HA. Lukas had to wear his new shoes. Apparently they were bought just for preschool cause he calls them his preschool shoes.
I Love his back pack.

In front of the door at preschool. He had such a fun day. When I went to pick him up he ran up to me and gave me a huge hug. He told me he missed me and Blair but had fun. They made all about me mobiles and they are super cute. He told me they played a few games and had a really yummy cookie snack. They sent me home a calender of the month and on it is what they will be doing each day. He is going to have so much fun. They sent home some homework. Every month they get homework pages and if they complete them in a month and return them they get a prize out of the prize bucket. Lukas couldn't wait and completed all 4 pages already. I think he may be an over achiever.
