2 Year check up

This picture is in memory of the binky because this Saturday is the day we are taking it away. I think we might be living in hell this weekend when we do so.

Lukas had his two year check up today. He was so upset when they weighed him and measured him. So much that I think they measured his height wrong. He wouldn't stand straight and was so clingy. After the nurse left and he got a little break he calmed down a lot. Dr. Neilson came in and he was a little petrified for a bit but got over it quickly. Dr. Nielson said wow I am surprised I was expecting a fight. I am sure he was from the screams he heard down the hall earlier. Dr. Neilson is so soft spoken and so nice that I am sure this is the reason he calmed down so fast. He was excited that he got to play with the "hammer" ( the reflax instrument. I don't even know the proper word for it.) Everything looked good and we are happy Lukas is growing. Lukas had his iron checked and didn't even flinch when they took his blood from his big toe. He acted like he was just really interested in the process. He got a hep A shot and only cried for a second. He was so brave. The nurse said wow that was easy. I think she also expected a huge cry fest after his first reaction. Lukas was so brave we went to Mcdonalds and he had his first shake.
2 year stats
26.6 pounds 30th percentile
34 in ( I swear he grew more then an inch in six months his pants are getting a lot shorter) 50th percentile.

We can't believe your two Lukas but we sure are glad your such a cute little boy!

bday party # 2

Today Lukas had another bday party ( yes, he is spoiled!) at grandma and grandpa W. with all his cousins. He was so excited to see more presents and to eat his yummy little people farm cake. Grandma made him lasagna and bow tie pasta. He loves both and he ate really good. He doesn't usually eat much over there because there is too much excitment so we know he loved the yummy bday dinner. He had a lot of fun and got some fun things.

I think Lukas's favorite thing to do now is open presents. Too bad he won't be doing this for a while.
Showing off his Sesamee Street Legos.
YAY for a new dump truck.
Grandma and Grandpa got him a big wheel. It is a Harley Davidson one. It is pretty cool. We will take pictures of him on it tomorrow when it is all put together.
Singing Happy Birthday.
He had to lick the frosting off of the plastic containers the little people were on.
MMMM good frosting.
It totally stained him green but that is okay.
He loves to sit in his dump truck.

Bday party with friends

Lukas had a birthday party today with my family and his fun friends. We had a play dough/ cookie party. My mom found this really cool cookie dough that looked like playdough. We had the kids cut out and design cookies. While they were baking we did cake and ice cream and presents. Once the cookies cooled they decorated them with frosting, sprinkles and candy. I think it went really well and all the kids seemed to have a good time. The parents did as well.

Emma just wanted to eat her cookie dough. Thats okay her dad had a lot of fun making really cool cookies with her dough. He won with the most creative looking cookies (Neil is very artistic) he made a hot dog, a yo gabba gabba charcter and a kitty cat. They were cute.
Lukas had fun pounding the dough.
He got a new basket ball hoop. It was funny because when he was done unwrapping it I asked him to stand by it so I could take a picture and so he stood right by it and folded his arms for some reason.
He got really excited about his presents and would hold them up for us to see. He got some finger paints. We were excited because I have been wanting to try these with Lukas but hadn't gotten around to buying any yet.
Lukas's train cake. I decorated it myself. I need some more practice but I didn't do too bad for my first cake. You could at least till it was a choo choo train. Lukas kept saying choo choo when he would see it.
Blowing out his candle. He got to do it twice since he blew it out right away the first time before we could even sing happy bday to him. After he blew it out twice he kept bringing me the candle and asking if he could do it again.

Decorating the cookies (do you think he put enough sprinkles on them?)

Chapstick

Lukas seriously LOVES chap stick. Whenever he sees it he wants to put it on. Tonight he saw my Dr. pepper Lip smackers and asked for it. I gave it to him and he starts putting it on. Well I look over and he is putting it on his "baby". I guess babies lips were dry too. He would take turns putting it on himself then putting it on her. I forgot how red Dr. pepper chapstick can be. We wiped baby off but he got some on her cloth body and I think she is going to have some permanent stains.

New stroller

We got our double stroller! YAY! This might be boring news for some of you, but to me it is SO exciting. Not only because my new stroller is awesome, but also because it means I am going to be a mommy to two beautiful kiddies soon. Plus it is a bonus that Lukas seems to really like it. We have been having problems with him wanting to ride in the stroller. As soon as we put this one together he sat in it and didn't want to get out. He even started crying go ride. Too bad it was snowing really bad so we couldn't really go for a walk. I highly recommend this stroller (graco quatro duo)though because it folds down like a single stroller and it is really smooth. Also it has six cup/snack holders! The basket underneath is huge so it will fit lots of shopping bags which we all know as moms is a must. I was nervous it wouldn't fit in my tiny trunk but it does. I sound like an advertisment for Graco. I will end by saying I like it. Thanks mom for such an awesome baby gift that isn't just for Blair but for me and Lukas too!

baby

We have two cabbage patch dolls that Lukas loves. One that we have had for some reason for a while and another one that Blair got from my mom for Christmas. Lukas always asks where his baby is. He loves to give his babies hugs and kisses. One of them has teeth and he even brushes her teeth! It is really funny. We figured this would be good practice for when the "real" baby comes into our house. He has been known though to throw his dolls so I am sure we will have to make sure Blair doesn't leave our sight for a while. The other day when we went to my moms he had to have one of my old purses and he had to put his baby in the purse and take it to grandmas. I am sure he will make a great daddy in the future. For now though he will just have to settle on big brother.

Happy New Year!

This is Lukas celebrating the New Year by saying cheese and taking our pictures!

I can't believe that another year has flown by! It feels like yesterday that we were ringing in 2008. I can't believe that in just a few short weeks my little guy will be 2! We have had so many great things happen this year. Dan graduated, we are having another little one (YAY for baby girls!) Lukas is growing and learning each and everyday. I feel truly blessed that the lord sent me my little guy and is entrusting me with yet another little one. Especially when on somedays I don't feel like I am the best mom I can be. I am working on it though and hope to have more patience and understanding. Being a mom is truly the most wonderful blessing ever! We are looking forward to 2009 and what it will bring. I have a feeling this year could be our most life changing ever. We could be moving somewhere new and possibly far away, depending on where Dan gets a job. Blair will be here to add to our family. I am excited for the adventure. I am glad I get to share it with Dan and be his companion. He truly is such a wonderful dad and husband! Anyway, enough of that. I hope that everyone had a great New Years Eve and New Years Day! We have truly been spoiled to have Dan home so much and have enjoyed it. We had Neil and Ali and Emma over on New Years Eve to ring in the new year. We had fun eating pizza, playing the Wii, and playing Apples to Apples and Skip Bo. Lukas and Emma had fun playing and had to get use to a mini sleepover (till about one) in Lukas's room. Lukas fell a sleep first and slept like a rock! Today on New Years Ali and Neil invited us over for dinner. It was so good. We had ham, funeral potatos, rolls, green bean casserole, and an awesome dessert. We felt spoiled. Thanks Ali and Neil for being awesome friends and keeping us company this New Years!
