Talking more

Lukas is talking more and more everyday. He is saying about one new word a day. Some of the things he is saying: Truck, he is obssessed with trucks. Everytime he sees one he yells out truck. Please, he even said thanks to me the other day when I gave him breakfast. If he sees a picture of himself sometimes he will say Lukas cute. Of course he can say dog. Duck is another favorite, followed by quack quack. The other day he said take off because he wanted us to take off his shoes. I did it is one he shouts when he is proud of himself. He hates his car seat so much that whenever he is in it he says stuck and tries to get out of it. A few times he has managed to get his arms out of the straps. It scares me to death I have to pull over and fix it. Instead of saying bye he says see you a lot. He is saying more words but these are some of my favorites. He is growing so fast and it is so exciting and sad at the same time.

He is obsessed with wearing mine and Dans shoes. Currently these are his favorite to put on.
The other day he had to wear his church tie and his Fourth of July necklaces.

We are lucky to still have a house!

Yesterday Lukas and I went to pick up some food for dinner. When we got home and I was unlocking the door I could smell something burning. I go inside and the smell is very strong. I go to the laundry room thinking it was in there. Then I look down the hall and I see smoke. I run into our bedroom and there is even more smoke! I guess we left a lamp on and Lukas put it on the floor and it started smoking. The lamp was on on Dans shorts and Dans shorts were black and smoke was just coming off them. I hurried and picked them up and there was orange sparks which were just getting ready to burst out in flames. I threw them outside and turned the hose on them. I ran back in and threw water on our floor to put out the smoke where a big hole had burned. The smoke was pretty thick it was making my eyes sting and making me cough. The smell was awful. We decided we should leave and spend the night at Dans parents house so we could air ours out. This morning was spent doing lots of laundry to get the smoke smell out of our bedding and and curtains. Luckily the smoke smell didn't reach our clothes in the closet. I also washed all the walls and dusted really well to help with the smoke smell. I am exhausted now after doing all of that work and just feeling overwhelmed with the whole situation. I just feel so blessed and so lucky to still have a house to live in with all of our things. If I wouldn't have gotten home right when I did we would have had a house in flames. Even though this isn't my house it feels like it and I would have been sad to loose it. I know sometimes I complain that it is too small and wonder how we are going to fit another baby in here. Right now though I am just so grateful to have a house knowing we could have lost everything.

This is the spot on the carpet that was burned. We cut out that piece of carpet so that we wouldn't still have to smell it.

First slurpee

Lukas had his first slurpee today! He loved it! He has had snowies and slushies before but never a slurpee. I think he liked the slurpee the best because of the straw. He loves drinking from big boy glasses with a straw. On another note isn't his hair cut cute? His hair isn't done in these pictures but he still looks cute. Everytime he gets his hair cut he looks so much older. Also Lukas's bumps are almost gone. I am sure they will be completly gone in a few days. Sooner then they said. We are glad.

Odd bumps.

About four days ago Lukas got a little bump on his face. It looks just like a pimple and so I thought it was. Well yesterday while playing I noticed he had one on his forhead, one on his neck, two on his thumb, and some on his feet. I thought this was really odd and decided to take him to the Drs. I didn't want to deal with the after hours pediatrician office so I just ran down the street to the Drs. office that Dan and I go too. I have taken Lukas here before on in as needed basis. The Dr. wasn't positive what it was. He said it could be a mild case of the chicken pox. He also said it could be hand foot and mouth. He also said it could be just a viral infection. We pretty much ruled out hand foot and mouth because there wasn't a fever or blisters in his mouth. He was really leaning towards the chicken pox. So he gave me a perscription to give him to shorten the duration of it. Well I just didn't feel like it was the chicken pox. I came home googled them to see. I compared the pictures to the bumps on Lukas and just felt like that he didn't have them. Plus he has been vacinated for the chicken pox. Yes, I know you can still get a mild case even though you have been vaccinated. However, he hasn't been around anyone that has had the chicken pox so I couldn't figure out where he would have gotten it. I also googled hand foot mouth and ruled this out as well. He didn't have any bumps on the palms of his hands or bottom of feet. I didn't know if I should start him on the perscription or not. The next day he woke up and still had them. So I decided to take him to after hours at the pediatrician to get a second opinion. Well, guess what? He doesn't have chicken pox. I didn't think so. He has a virus that causes a rash. It is a similar virus to hand foot and mouth but isn't as severe as it. He said that he might get about ten more bumps before it goes away. He said that since he didn't have a fever that he wouldn't be too contagious. I can take him places as long as I keep him with me. No playing with other kids for about a week. He said it is spread through toy playing and sharing. He said that it is better to just keep him completley away from kids until then just in case. That is fine we don't really have to many plans to hang out with kids this next week. I just feel bad for Lukas. He said it usually starts with a sore throat. Maybe this is why Lukas was so sad and frustarted a few days ago. I can't wait till he can till me what is hurting him.

Lukas being silly

Lukas was being so silly today. He was cracking me up all day.

He kept walking around in my shoes. He also had to wear his sunglasses ALL day. If he didn't have them on his eyes he would put them on top of his head. I guess he sees me do this a lot.

Lukas loves balls. He is getting really good at kicking and throwing them. Today however, he wanted to try and balance on them on his stomach! Seriously, where does he come up with this stuff. So he would get on and balance and roll around on it with his tummy.
This is usually what happened complete nose dives!

Rocking horse!

Today grandma bought Lukas the cutest wooden rocking horse at a garage sale. I have been wanting to get Lukas one for a while. However, the ones I would see where way to expensive for my taste. We are so excited that she found this! It is so cute. At first Lukas was a little bit scared of it. He didn't want to get on it at all. Now he loves it and gets on it and rocks all by himself.
