Valentines Day

Valentines Day was good but also a little rough. Lukas must be getting some teeth because there was a lot of crying today. When Dan got home we had Lukas open his present from us. He got a swimming suit and a board book about baby kisses. He loves to read his book! However, he only likes to read it himself! He doesn't really like Dan and I to read books to him he takes it away and walks off to his own corner to read. A few hours later Lukas peed through his diaper all over his Valentines outfit! O-well it was cute while he was wearing it. For dinner we had heart shaped red pancakes and red scrambled eggs. Lukas ate a little bit of it but most of his food ended up on the floor. His new favorite game is to throw his food on the floor and laugh. Even though Lukas had a rough day I am so glad that he is my little Valentine. He is so cute and Dan and I love him very much. I am also grateful for my Valentine Dan he is a great husband and a great dad. Lukas loves his daddy and is always so excited for him to come home and play with him. I even helped Lukas make Dan a worlds greatst dad Valentine. Lukas colored on it and stuck stickers on it.

Were in trouble now!

As I was making dinner tonight I hear Dan say "Were in trouble now!" then he called me into the living room. I then saw Lukas climb up onto the coffee table. As soon as he got up onto the table he said "did it" He was so excited that he figured it out. I knew our make shift baby gate of the coffee table and cradle wasn't going to last forever. We weren't quite sure what we were going to do since our stairs are shaped so weird. I ended up going and getting another gate on my way home from the gym. We put the cradle in front of the stairs and the gate is able to attach to the wall. Dan said while I was at the gym he kept crawling onto the coffee table and dancing. HA HA. I guess we will be keeping an even CLOSER eye on him to make sure he doesn't hurt himsel falling off of it.

Date night to the Jazz game

Tonight Dan and I were able to go out by ourselves! It has been a while so we were so grateful. Dans boss gave him some Utah Jazz tickets as a thank you for working so hard. My aunt was nice enough to come to our house and watch little Lukas for us. Dan also got a Ruby River gift card for working so much overtime last pay period. So we were able to go out to eat as well. We had a great time! I am not a huge sports fan but the games are always fun. Plus I love to people watch and observe. Here are a few things that I observed while being at the jazz game.

1. The Utah Jazz dancers actually got confused for the Chicago Bulls dancers! Hello, don't come out wearing black and red if those are the other teams colors. Eventually they changed out of the black and red outfits to blue and purple which was MUCH better!
2. The Jazz dancers really weren't that great.
3. The guy behind us thought that he was the coach and would totally yell out the things he thought they should be doing.
4. Jazz games aren't great for first date conversations. The couple next to us obviously were on their first date. It was actually sort of cute because you could tell that he really liked her. I am not so sure if she felt the same.
5. Number 24 (I think that was his number) was having some problems and kept readjusting all throughout the game.
6. The game is really fun when your team wins

All in all though we had a good time and Lukas did great with aunt Suzanne. She said he would go to the door every once in a while but other then that he was good. She did say that he didn't like her giving him a bath though. She said that all three times she has given him a bath he has not liked it so she thinks it is destiny now.

Build a bear

My mom decided to start a new tradition that every year on the grandkids birthdays they get to go to build a bear and build their own bear. So we took Lukas yesterday to build his very first one! It is such a cute fun store. I picked out a koala for Lukas and then we went and had them stuff it. You get to pick out a heart and they put the heart in and then stuff the bear and sew it up. After that you move on to dress your bear. They have so many different outfits. They even have Sketcher shoes for the bears. Well I held up a few outfits for Lukas to choose from. He sort of just stared at them for a minute and I said point at the one you want. He then pointed at the pirate jammies and grabbed them. So pirate jammies it was. We picked out the red slippers to match and moved to the next station. After you dress your bear you get to name it and get a birth certificate for it. The cool thing is if you loose your bear and someone turns it in to the build a bear store they can look up your info and mail it to you. I know the chances of that are slim but I thought it was cool. We decided to name Lukas's bear Matey. It will be fun next year to see what Lukas picks out since he will be old enough to pick out exactly what he wants.

Lukas's favorite thing about Matey is his slippers. They fit his feet and he likes me to put them on him and then he takes them off. He also tries to put them on my feet.

Getting closer

I thought for sure Lukas would be walking by now, but he is sort of a scaredy cat! However, he is getting closer each and everyday. He now takes about ten steps frequently through out the day. Everytime he takes steps he claps and laughs, he is so proud of himself. I am sure he will be on his way anyday now.
