Play date with Emily

Yesterday we had my friend Lori and her daughter Emily over to play. Emily is almost one, and is so cute and has the biggest beautiful blue eyes. Lukas had so much fun playing with her. This was Emily's first time swimming. She abosuletly loved it. She splashed around and didn't even cry when Lukas splashed her (poor Emily. He is so use to swimming with his older cousins.) She even had her very first popsicle at our house. I bet all the fun made her want to come and play more often. We would love it. She is so cute and so happy and Lukas loves to play with her.

Miracle # 2

We are so very excited to announce that miracle baby number 2 is on his or her way! We are so pleased and feel very blessed to add another little one to our family. We are so excited for Lukas to be a big brother. Our due date is March 6th. I know, I know, it is a little early to spill the beans. However, a lot of our friends and family know that we have been going to Salt Lake for our fertility treatments. We have been asked and know we will be asked if they worked. We wanted everyone to know it worked! It is hard to keep a secret when you try so hard to get your little ones into the world.

Much needed family time!

With Dans school schedule and work we never see each other. He would go to school in the mornings come home sleep for about five hours get up and go back to school then work. We would spend about thirty minutes a day with him which was dinner time. Lukas and I always look forward to dinner time (even though I am not a good cook.HA HA) Dan just finished this semester. If he passes these two classes (Math and Statistics) there is a chance he could be finished. He has two other classes but he might be able to test out of them and be finished. We are so proud of him and his accomplishments. We are looking forward to having our daddy back and moving on with our lives. This weekend we got to spend a lot of time together as a family and it was great! It even started early on thursday with going for a walk and getting a snowie and having a water fight with Lukas in the backyard. On Friday night we had pizza and after Lukas went to bed Dan and I watched a movie together. I think this was the first time in a few months where we have watched a movie together at home. On Saturday Dan cashed in his Fathers Day present and we went to Good wood for dinner. Lukas was amazing at dinner and had so much fun. We went and walked the mall afterwards. Today we went to church of course and then went and fed the ducks. Lukas had a blast feeding the ducks. The minute we got there he was saying "WOW!" He chased them and fed them bread. Of course he sampled a few bread pieces himself! HA HA. He ran too fast at one point and we almost had an accident of him falling in the pond. Thank goodness I got to him in time.

Lukas enjoying his root beer flavored snowie!
Lukas wants to be JUST like daddy!
Daddy giving Lukas some bread to feed the ducks! It was funny becuase he would set the food down right in front of the ducks and run away laughing!

Tonight Lukas and I went for a walk and when I came home my disaster of a living room was all picked up! Dan had cleaned it up and wrote me this sweet little note before he went to rest before work! Lukas and I are so lucky to have him. He even did ALL the dishes from dinner. Thanks for taking such great care of us Dan!

Finally interested

Lukas got a few ride on toys for Chirstmas. He got a police ride on car from Santa and a 3 in one tonka truck ride on from Grandma and Grandpa. I was starting to wonder if he would EVER ride on them. He hardly ever played with them. He would push the buttons on the tonka truck and push it around but never really get on it. Every once in a while he would use the police car as a bench to climb on to get something. I am so glad to see that he is finally interested in actually riding on him. I would say at the moment these are his two favorite things. He gets on them constantly through out the day and loves riding on them. I am so glad because they are so CUTE!

Does this look spell trouble or what?

Carnival

Yesterday Lukas and I went to the Art City Days carnival. Poor Daddy couldn't make it since he wasn't feeling well. We missed him but we had fun.

He kept staring and pointing at this ride. I figured he must want to go on it. So I bought two tickets and put him on it. As soon as it started going he flipped out! He was not excited about it at all. Good thing I only bought two tickets, so I wasn't stuck with them. He did however, enjoy watching other people ride the rides.

He loved my Texas Tornado drink. I have to get one of these every year they are SO good!

Bye Bye Binky, well sort of

I don't think anyone has a kid as addicted to the binky as much as I do. I knew the dreaded day was coming, however I was NOT looking forward too it. About five days ago I decided to take it away during the day. He is now only allowed to have it at bed times and naptimes. I usually give it to him thirty minutes before bed time and nap time. It is sort of out of purely selfish reasons I give it to him thirty minutes early. I have noticed since taking it away he isn't as cuddly because he doesn't get as sleepy without it. So in order to still have my baby cuddle with me I give it to him early. We are doing pretty well. We have only had a few melt downs. One was two days after I took it away and he scremed bloody murder for over an hour (so bad he was shaking.) and I finally gave in and gave it to him. I figured we had made a lot of progress and it would be okay as long as I took it away longer each and every day. The next melt down I just put him back in his crib with it for about fifteen minutes and then took it away and got him out and went outside. He has been fine since and we haven't had another melt down. I have already noticed in increase in talking. Even if most of it is jibberish. However, he has said two new words since then blanky and shoes. I was hoping for this since this was my main reason for taking it away. I really didn't want to inhibit his speech. Now I just need to get up the nerve to actually take it away at nap time and bed time. I don't think this will happen till Dan is done with school since I know I will need ALL the help I can get. I am not sure if I could handle night time by myself without a binky.

I had to post a cute picture of Lukas with his binky even if it is old just to honor the thing that kept me sane for so long!

Barn Yard Fun!

Today we went to Thanksgiving Point to the barn yard. Lukas absolutely LOVES animals. The minute we walked in he was in giggles. He even got to pet a two week old baby goat outside the gate. I love this age because everything is so new to them and it is so cute and fun to watch them learn and grow. His favorite was the goats for sure and he didn't want to stop feeding them. Even though at first he was sort of scared. He would hold up the feed and stand very far away hoping they would come to him. I finally got him up to the gate then he would just throw the feed at them at run off. Finally after me holding his hand and letting them eat from it, he finally did it on his own. Once he got into it he just wanted to keep feeding them. Luckily goats are always hungry right?

Look Grandma a goat!

Trying to get the goat to come to him to eat. I guess he didn't understand that the fence was in the way.

This isn't so bad.

His first pony ride! He Loved it. I know it doesn't show on his face. Truly though he had a great time. I thought he would be a little scared but not at all.

This face cracks me up.
